Metaverse Exchange HelpTerms of Service • Listing Guidelines • Fees • Terminals Tips: Many things on this site have tool tips. If you're unsure of what something is or what it means, try holding your mouse over it. ListingsOn Metaverse Exchange, a listing is a separate thing from an item. If you're familiar with other v-commerce sites, this is one concept which may take a little getting used to. Pictures, permissions and prices are all connected to an item. A listing can cover several items, allowing for things such as different colors, permission arrangements, etc. to be under one listing. This is a requirement, in fact: items which are different only by one feature (such as color) must be grouped under one listing. To list your items, first get an Inventory Server and place your items in it. This server will need to remain rezzed somewhere at all times, to deliver the items as they're sold. More information about the operation of the inventory server is available by clicking on it. Next, go to your Account page (you must be logged in) and click on the Inventory link. Click the Edit link next to an item to set its price and permissions, and to upload or select pictures for it. Note that pictures can be re-used for multiple items, simply click Select in the edit popup, to select from your existing pictures. You can also upload pictures in bulk, up to 20 at a time, from your Images page, then assign them to items. Once you've assigned pictures and set prices on your items, you can include them in a listing. From your Account page, click New Listing. A listing can consist of any number of items, allowing you to combine different item options into one listing. For example, if you have a shirt in three different colors, put them into one listing, call the Option "Color", and give option values to each of the items. Enter a title for the listing, and a description (if your listing has multiple options, you might want to mention it in the description. The option selector will appear on the left side of the listing.) Select a category for your listing by clicking Change at the top right. When you're done, click the Update button, and your listing will show up on MVX immediately. BBCodeMVX allows you to use standard BBCode tags to enhance your listing text. In addition to the usual tags, there is a special wiki-style link tag, to allow you to easily cross-link listings or to link to locations in-world. There are two ways to link to a listing: by listing ID (you can see this in your browser address bar
when viewing a listing), or by name. If you link by name, MVX will look for a listing belonging to you
by that name. The lookup is not case-sensitive, but otherwise must match exactly.

[[SL:Siann Beck Gallery]] Currently, SL: and 3R: links both generate a regular SLURL; in order for a SLURL to work in 3R, you must be already running the viewer and logged in to 3R. TerminalsYou can validate your identity and deposit funds to your account (once validated) at any Metaverse Exchange terminal. For terminal locations, visit the terminals page. Search PluginThere is a plugin available, which will add MVX to your browser search bar. To install it, click the Install link below.
