Category Suggestions

Hi!

Now that .. some other site ... has finally implemented some silly policy that made me leave, I came to here and I actually got into a little problem. I am building sci-fi items like artificial eyes or other items like this, but there is no good category for it. I have put them up under 'armor' so far as I guess RP interested people (who I guess are in some part my target audience) might be more likely to look there, but a

sci-fi category ... cyberpunk and while we are on this steampunk and fantasy too

might help a lot. There are many RP interested people in SL and this should make it more easy for them to find the right category and the items they might be interested in.

Speaking of textures, can we PLEASE have a sub category for nothing but singles? That way you have to specifically look for them? It is a huge mess after someone uploads a huge number of singles and will quickly clutter up the listings for others. I have looked at a few other sites today to see about expanding and they are already cluttered with single listings so I'm not sure it is even worth it. Would like to avoid that problem here if possible.

Anyways, is ther any chance to add a sci-fi category to the Avi Accessoriess? Right now I really don't know where to fit those builds of mine and it would help people who are looking for such items.

I second (third? fourth?) the motion about textures as a top level category, and also request the following addition:
Textures > Sculpt Maps

Also, there are a number of non-standard avatars who are migrating from XStreet since we cannot afford to maintain listings in a niche market. I request from a user point of view and suggest from a business perspective that categories specifically for non-standard sized/proportioned avatars be created. This would be helpful to users and also give these niche market folk a reason to come here over the other start-up m-commerce sites. This would be something designed not for the sale of AVs, but for accessories and clothing aimed at niche AV size markets like Tinies, Micros, Megas, etc.

This could be done by adding a top level category:
Macro, Tiny & Micro > Animations
Macro, Tiny & Micro > Apparel (no further sub-levels necessary, unless category becomes cluttered)
Macro, Tiny & Micro > Avatar Accessories (ditto)

Or a secondary category to those existing:
Animations > Macro, Tiny & Micro
Apparel > Men > Macro, Tiny & Micro (no further sub-levels necessary, unless category becomes cluttered)
Apparel > Women > Macro, Tiny & Micro (ditto)
Apparel > Other > Macro, Tiny & Micro (ditto)
Apparel > Unisex > Macro, Tiny & Micro (ditto)
Avatar Accessories > Macro, Tiny & Micro

Thanks for all the suggestions so far; keep them coming. I have this thread bookmarked and will be giving the categories an overhaul just as soon as possible.

Might be worth adding child avatars to that set of nonstandard avatars one can search specially for.
